RECORDING A FILM FOR A GERMAN PROGRAM/GRABACIÓN DE UN VIDEO PARA UN PROGRAMA ALEMÁN

A month ago, I got a phone call from a German filming company that was looking for some nice, centric and budget places in Barcelona and they saw our hotel on the internet and liked very much, so they chose it as a part of a German TV show that talks about Barcelona and recommends places to sleep, to eat...It will be on in January 2011 ( I will pass the link for you to watch it on the internet). They filmed the street with the main entrance, the reception and one of the rooms.

Hace un mes, recibí una llamada telefónica de una empresa alemana que se dedica a la filmación de videos para programas . Estaban buscando algunos lugares agradables, céntricos y económicos en Barcelona y vieron nuestro hotel en Internet y les gustó mucho, así que lo eligieron como parte de un show de la televisión alemana que habla de algunos lugares de Barcelona recomendables para dormir, comer ... Será en en enero de 2011 (pasaré el enlace para verlo en Internet). Se grabó parte de la calle, la entrada principal al hotel, la recepción y una de las habitaciones dobles.

UNA ASCENSOR, POR FIN!! A LIFT, AT LAST!!

Ya estamos en marcha para solicitar todos los permisos necesarios para construir el ascensor. No puedo creerme que después de tantos años, mis clientes ya no tendrán que subir más escaleras a pie. De todas maneras, sugeriría, que de vez en cuando, se utilice la escalera de caracol para poder descansar en la pequeña salita con chimenea muy agradable en invierno. Nada más deciros que del 14 de noviembre del 2010 al 9 de febrero del 2011, estaremos cerrados, como ya sabeis, por una buena causa, el ascensor!! De todas maneras, recepción continuará abierta todos estos meses para futuras reservas.

We are ready to get all the permits to start with the lift construction. I can´t believe that after so many years, we are going to make it, my guest won´t have to walk up satirs any more!! I would suggest you , anyway, to use sometimes the stairs so you won´t miss the little fireplace area very comfortable in winter time. Just a quick note to let you know that the hotel will be closed from 14th November 2010 until 9th February 2011 due to the lift construction. Reception will remind opened to take all bookings required for next year.

Nuestro pequeño hotel familiar lleva sufriendo renovaciones desde hace cinco años . La verdad es que tu dejaste huella y todo lo que pudiste hacer, lo hiciste muy bien. Cada día hay más competencia en nuestro sector y necesitábamos algunos cambios. Hoy en día, el hostal es un lugar muy acogedor, especial, único, donde lo principal son las personas que lo ocupan. Este invierno volvemos a cerrar unos meses para poner ascensor, finalmente ya hemos conseguido llevar a cabo este último proyecto. Con esto, puedo dar por terminadas la mayoría de cosas que TU dejaste, sin quererlo, por hacer. Me acuerdo de ti cada día y espero, que estés donde estés puedas verlo. Ya hace 10 años que no estás conmigo ni con mamá pero todo esto es por ti. Gracias Félix y gracias también a todas las personas que escogen quedarse en nuestro humilde hotel.

Our little cozy family hotel has been renovated for the last five years. You left a very special mark before you die and all the things you did are in our minds. There are a lot of hotels in Barcelona and we nedded some changes to make our the best. Nowadays, our hotel, is a very homely, special and unique place, where the most important thing is the people that stays in.This winter we will be closed for three months to put a lift, finally we got it. I remember this is one of the last things you wanted to do before leaving and now we will do it. I think of you everyday and no matter where you are I hope that you can see all this. It has been 10 years that you are not here with mum and I but all we do, we do it for you, because you deserve it. Thank you Felix and thanks to all the people that choose this place to spend a few days in Barcelona.

New breakfast room in Hosteria Grau/Nueva sala de desayunos

Recientemente hemos inaugurado una sala de desayunos donde también se puede comer y cenar. Pueden también disfrutar de una copa de vino, sangria , cerveza... en un patio pequeño con pinturas en las paredes. Este es un lugar muy característico ,relajante y especialmente recomendado. No pase por alto visitarlo durante su estancia en el hotel.

We have recently opened a breakfast room where you can also have lunch and dinner. You can also enjoy a glass of wine, sangria, beer...in a small patio with paintings on the wall. This is a very interesting and relaxing part of the hotel and we highly recommend it. Don´t miss it when visiting our family place.
